Marcus de Guzman D.M.D.
dentists. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA in 1996. Following in his grandfather's footsteps, he decided to focus on dentistry and obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from The Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry (formerly Temple University School of Dentistry) in Philadelphia, PA in 2000 at the age of 25.
Jennifer Freeman, R.D.H. Dental hygienist
Jennifer received her bachelor's degree in dental hygiene from the University of
Texas Dental Branch in Houston in 2009. During her education she obtained thorough hands-on clinical experience, working with patients within the Dental Branch as well as Antoine Harris County Public Health Clinic, Fort Bend New Hope Dental Clinic, Houston Medical Center Pediatric Dentistry Clinic, and the Veterans Affairs Dental Clinic. Upon graduation Jennifer received the Colgate Student Total Achievement Award and has also been recognized by the Special Care Dentistry Association and The Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities.
Motivated by a desire to help others, Jennifer has spent many hours volunteering in the community, notably at the Bering Omega Dental Clinic, community outreach programs such as Texas Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile, and numerous community health fairs and elementary school programs. Jennifer is passionate about Dental Hygiene and loves having the opportunity to educate people both young and old on how to properly care for their beautiful smiles!
Jennifer is a current member of the local, state, and national dental hygiene organizations including the ADHA, TDHA, and Greater Houston Dental Hygiene Society. When not educating patients on the importance of oral well-being, she enjoys all outdoor activities, travel, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Keia Murrell, R.D.A.
Dental Assistant
Keia Murrell was born in Houston, TX and has lived in the Bayou City all her
life. As she grew older, she knew she wanted a career in the healthcare field. At first, she couldn't decide whether to go into nursing or into dentistry. But after graduating from Eisenhower High School, she decided to go to school for dental assisting. She graduated from the National Institute of Technology and recieved her Registered Dental Assistant certificate from the Texas Board of Dental Examiners. Keia has now been practing in the dental field since 2003. She loves helping other people. She makes her patients feel welcome and enjoys educating them on the importance of dentistry.
Keia enjoys spending her spare time with her mother and her friends; just having quality time with those she loves dearly. She and her friends go on trips and she especially enjoys the beach. Her mantra is "live, love, laugh", which she feels makes her the positive, good-spirited person that she is today.
Carlos Camacho
Practice Administrator
Carlos was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and moved to San Francisco, California at the age of 13. He has been living in Houston since 2008, and is in love with the city. Aside from being our practice administrator, he is also a fitness instructor and he has been involved in the healthcare industry for the past 5 years. Carlos believes in keeping healthy: from your teeth to your core. Carlos likes to stay busy and is involved in many different projects. When he is not at Bayou City Smiles, he is either teaching class, exercising, or filming, as he is a local celebrity. You can see him in local and national commercials such as Academy Sports & Outdoors, Dominos Pizza, Burger King, Texas Lottery, Budweiser, among others.
